English rendering

Thus there are gods in heaven and earth who oversee human faults, shortening life according to their gravity. As life’s allotment is reduced, poverty and losses follow, with repeated worries and calamities. People dislike the offender; punishment and misfortune follow, good occasions withdraw, and adverse stars bring harm. When the allotment is exhausted, death comes.

Reading note from this site

The “allotment” is a traditional religious unit of lifespan, not a way to predict actual health or longevity.

Chinese source passage

是以天地有司過之神,依人所犯輕重,以奪人算。算減則貧耗,多逢憂患;人皆惡之,刑禍隨之,吉慶避之,惡星災之;算盡則死。
