Taishang Ganying Pian 10: Not profiting from another’s loss
English rendering of the Japanese reader’s section 10. The 24 divisions are this site’s editorial divisions, not original chapters.
English rendering
Wishing that others fail and destroying their achievements. Endangering others for one’s own safety and reducing their share for one’s own gain. Substituting bad goods for good, sacrificing fairness to private interest, stealing others’ abilities or credit and concealing their goodness. Exposing their faults and private affairs. Wasting their wealth and separating families. Violating what others cherish and assisting wrongdoing. Exerting arbitrary power and humiliating others to win. Ruining seedlings and crops and breaking marriages. Growing arrogant through ill-gotten wealth and feeling no shame on escaping responsibility.
Reading note from this site
