History and things to know
According to shrine tradition, prompted by an imperial edict of Emperor Meiji, the founding of the shrine was permitted in Meiji 33, and in November of Taishō 1 it was established as a shrine enshrining the Forty-Seven Gishi. In Heisei 12, seven shrines that had been scattered around the grounds, including the Yamaga-sha and a Tenmangū, were gathered in one place as a joint hall for the shrines within the grounds.
