History and things to know

According to the official history, a shrine where Abe Masatake, lord of the Fukuyama domain, enshrined the war dead in Meiji 1, and Abe Jinja, where the domain lord Abe Masakiyo enshrined Ōhiko no Mikoto, distant ancestor of the Abe family, and other kami in the Bunka era, were merged in Shōwa 32 and took the present name. The buildings of the predecessor shrines were almost entirely lost in the air raid of Shōwa 20.
