History and things to know
According to the official guide, it is said to be the place where Hōjō Tokimune built a hermitage for Zen practice, and soon after his death in Kōan 7 (1284) it was set up as the founder's mausoleum. In the Tenbun era, 鶴隠周音 renamed Gyokusenken as Butsunichi-an and restored it, and the present main hall was built in 2007 (Heisei 19).
