History and things to know

According to temple tradition, it began in Kan'ei 3 (1626) when 河野又衛門尉栄通 welcomed Nichiri Shōnin of Minobusan and built a hall. Located midway along the Narita Kaidō, in the Edo period it also served as lodging for monks heading to the Iitaka Danrin. The present main hall was built in Shōwa 61.
