History and things to know
According to the official guide, although the time of its founding is not clear, it is regarded as an old shrine, recorded in the Kojiki as the hare kami. Shrine tradition says that after it lost its buildings in war and declined, Kamei Korenori, lord of Shikano Castle, restored it in the Keichō era after receiving a revelation in a dream, and that the present main hall was built in Meiji 29.
