History and things to know

According to the guide of the Gifu Prefecture Association of Shinto Shrines, the register of shrines of Mino Province lists "Kamo Myōjin, Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade," and there was a time, though when is unknown, when the shrine's name was changed to Shirahige Jinja, enshrining Shirahige Daimyōjin. In Meiji 2 it was renamed Kamo Jinja, and in Meiji 6 it was listed as the gōsha (district shrine) of the 18 villages of the Fukuzuka ring-levee area. Its annual festival is on September 30.
