History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, in the reign of Emperor Seimu, 物部臣賀夫城命 set up the provincial government here and deeply revered 金大神. The shrine explains that Nunoshihime no Mikoto, who came here following after her husband, cared for the people and worked hard to open up the town, and that the people who admired her virtue enshrined her as 金大神.
