Enshrined deity: Takeminakatatomi no Mikoto

History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, it began when descendants of Prince Takechi who had moved here from Yamato received a sacred plaque from Suwa Taisha in Shinano Province and enshrined it here; this is said to have been in Daidō 2 (807). It is also said that during the Later Three Years' War Minamoto no Yoshiie prayed here for victory and on his way back dedicated horses and harness.
