Enshrined kami: the kami of the one hundred shrines of Mutsu Province

History and things to know

According to the official guide, it is said to have begun when the provincial governor appointed to Tagajō, the provincial capital of Mutsu, enshrined the kami together near the east gate of Tagajō instead of making a round of the shrines in the province. Date Masamune also worked to restore it; the present main hall was rebuilt in Jōkyō 4 and the worship hall in Kyōhō 19.
