History and things to know

According to the official guide, the present shrine building was built in Shōwa 3 as the worship hall of Hakusan Jinja. When Hakusan Jinja moved in Shōwa 51 because of residential development, the second-generation chief priest took over this building and changed its enshrined kami and its name, making it Omoikane Jinja. The enshrined kami are said to have been transferred from divine spirits worshipped in Saga-chō, Hata District, Kōchi Prefecture (today's Kuroshio-chō).
