History and things to know

According to the official history, it is an ancient shrine whose name appears in the Engishiki of the Heian period, and it is said to have also been written 幸魂神社. The shrine relates that the name of Sakitama District, which comes from this shrine, later became Saitama District and led to the name of the prefecture.
