History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, after Kitanoshō Castle fell on the 24th day of the 4th month of Tenshō 11, a stone shrine was built on the site of the keep to enshrine the spirit of Katsuie-kō, and retainers of the domain continued to hold rites there every year on the same day. In Meiji 6 it was given the status of a shrine and became a shrine with its own parishioners and worshippers.
