History and things to know
According to temple tradition, it was opened by the priest 日遣 in the Kan'ei era at the beginning of the Edo period. The image of Marishiten was installed in Hōei 5 (1708), and its fairs on the days of the boar drew large crowds. It lost its halls in the Great Kantō Earthquake and in the war, but its buildings were rebuilt in Shōwa 39.
