History and things to know
According to the temple's engi, its first head priest, 真快, who became a monk after the death of his daughter, opened the temple in Koiwa in Shōwa 58 after making the Shikoku pilgrimage and traveling on foot to various places. The principal image of Fudō Myōō is the work of the Buddhist sculptor Matsumoto Myōkei, and the temple states that goma prayers have been offered every morning since its founding.
