What the text records
The Kamiyo Nanayo count each of the first two kami as one generation, and each of the five pairs that follow as one generation. Seven generations does not mean seven kami; there are twelve kami in all. There is no tale in this section telling of Tsunogui no Kami's individual actions or words.

How to receive the name
There is a theory linking “gui” (杙) with stakes, and a theory linking it with the way shoots of plants emerge above ground. These interpretations also relate to how the Kamiyo Nanayo as a whole are understood, for example as the formation of the land or the coming into being of the bodies of the kami.
