History and things to know
According to the official guide, it began in Meiji 2 when Tokugawa Yoshikatsu, lord of the Owari domain, enshrined twenty-five people who died in the Boshin War on Kawanayama and called it the "旌忠社." After names such as shōkonsha, it took its present name in Shōwa 14, and it moved to the present site in Shōwa 10. It lost its shrine buildings in the air raids of Shōwa 20, and the main hall and worship hall were rebuilt in Shōwa 33.
