Enshrined kami: Toyoukehime no Mikoto

History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, it began in the Bunka–Bunsei years of the Edo period: when the embankment of the new rice fields at Ōgiura was close to collapsing from high waves, the villagers set up a small shrine to the great kami of Inari on top of the embankment. In Shōwa 20 the shrine was ordered to leave its former site for the expansion of the airport, and in Shōwa 23 it was moved to its present location.
