History and things to know
According to shrine tradition, it was founded in the Yōrō era (717–724) and was formerly called Ryūzō Gongen. It was revered by the successive lords who ruled Chōshi and has been cherished as the guardian of the town. At its restoration in Shōwa 33, people of the Tsukiji fish market offered the calligraphy on the front of the shrine building.
