History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, the kami was invited here in Enryaku 11 (792), but the shrine was burned in Tenshō 2 (1574) in fighting by the Takeda forces, and no records from before then remain. In Tenshō 8 it was rebuilt with Daitōryū Gongen and Sannō Gongen enshrined together, and a great bronze torii erected in Bunsei 7 (1824) still stands.
