History and things to know
According to the temple's history, the Taishidō and the temple's predecessor, the Ensenbō, are surmised to have been in operation by the end of the Nanboku-chō period at the latest, and the temple is said to have been restored by the senior priest 賢惠 in Bunroku 4 (1595). After its halls were lost in a fire in Ansei 4 (1857), it was rebuilt, and the present main hall was completed in Meiji 32. It is also No. 51 of the Tamagawa Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage.
