History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, it began in Ryakuō 2 (1339), when Ogasawara Sadamune, after a sacred dream of Suwa Myōjin, built the Miyamura-gū. The Tenmangū was invited from Kitano Tenmangū in Ōei 9 (1402), and in Keichō 19 (1614) it was also invited to the north side of Miyamura Myōjin, so that the two were enshrined side by side. The name Fukashi Jinja was fixed in Tenpō 12 (1841).
