History and things to know
According to the temple's tradition, it is said to be the first temple built, in Kyōtoku 1 (1452), by Gyōgaku-in Nicchō Shōnin, the 11th head of Minobusan. It is officially described as having become a place that people who could not travel as far as Minobusan visited in its place, and as having also served as "the little head temple in Minobusan's home country".
