History and things to know

According to the temple's guide, in Genna 1 (1615) the priest 大室良奕 was invited as its founder, and it took shape as a temple at its present site. Since before the Edo shogunate's temple-parishioner (jidan) system was established, it has been a spiritual home for the people of Yakō and Egasaki in Tsurumi Ward and of Ogura in Kawasaki City.
