History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, the year of its founding is unknown; it is said to have begun when the reed beds that spread after a flood were cleared and a small shrine was set up. It was originally the tutelary shrine of Maeno village, called Dairokuten-sha, and took its present name with the Meiji separation of kami and buddhas. With the extension of the Shibamata Kaidō road, the shrine buildings and grounds were rebuilt, and the work was completed in Heisei 21.
