History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, the "Onomichi Misode-sha" began when a small shrine was built in the Enkyū era (1069–1074), and it later came to be called Misode Tenmangū. Shrine buildings were built in Keichō 11 (1606) and Jōkyō 4 (1687), and after a fire in Shōwa 48 (1973), the present shrine buildings were rebuilt in Shōwa 58 (1983).
