History and things to know
According to temple tradition, it originated when Eshin Sōzu Genshin built a thatched hermitage here while traveling around the Kantō region. It lost its old records to fire during the battle of Kōnodai in the Sengoku period, but in Keian 2 it received a vermilion-seal land grant from Tokugawa Iemitsu, and from the Shōwa to the Heisei period its Kannon hall, main hall, guest hall and other buildings were put in order.
