History and things to know

According to the temple's overview, its founder is regarded as the priest 勝願. It records that in June of Tenbun 13 (1544) the temple received from Shōnyo Shōnin of Hongan-ji a portrait of the previous head, Jitsunyo Shōnin, together with the six-character Name (rokuji myōgō) and a letter (ofumi) in Jitsunyo Shōnin's own hand. Its rules as a religious corporation were certified in Shōwa 28.
