History and things to know
According to the temple's history, it is said to have begun in Tenshō 19 when 行順, the 13th head of Shōgen-ji in Toyohashi, revived an abandoned temple called Daimyō-ji. The main hall has burned twice; after a fire in Man'en 2 (1861), the 11th head priest, 挺秀 (晩翠), rebuilt the present main hall in Meiji 14 (1881).
