History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, the date of its founding is not known, but because spring water at the foot of the hill had watered the surrounding fields, it is said to have begun when a small shrine was built on the hilltop where the water source lies, to pray for the safety of the farmland. It is noted that the Shinpen Musashi Fudokikō contains a record that the shrine building was repaired in Kōhei 6 (1063).
