History and things to know
According to the official guide, in Meiji 8 the three enshrined deities were determined by imperial command, and the shrine was moved from the foot of the mountain to the center of the town to become the general guardian shrine of the area. It was raised to the rank of a prefectural shrine in Shōwa 11, and in Heisei 4 the shrine buildings were moved from Yashiro-chō to the present site in Takaoka.
