History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, it began in the Kenchō era when a divided spirit was received from Usa Jingū in Buzen. In Meiji 39 it moved to its present site because of the construction of the Ikegami Racecourse, and in Meiji 41 an Inari shrine was merged into it and it was renamed Tokumochi Jinja. After it lost its shrine buildings in the war, a festival celebrating the restoration of the shrine buildings in the Hachiman-zukuri style was held in Shōwa 41.
