History and things to know
According to the official guide, it was founded in Keichō 5 (1600) by the second domain lord, Maeda Toshinaga, who, following his father Toshiie's will, built his grave on Mount Noda and established the temple to pray for his repose. After burning down in Genna 2 (1616), it was rebuilt by Toshiie's wife Matsu (Hōshun-in), and after burning again in Meiji 6 (1873), it was rebuilt.
