History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, it is said to have been ceremonially brought (kanjō) from Usa Hachimangū in the Heian period. Because its old documents were lost in the war, the year of its founding is unknown, but a golden gohei thought to have been dedicated in Meitoku 4 (1393) remains in the main sanctuary, and after the war the shrine was restored with the cooperation of its parishioners.
