History and things to know
According to the temple's tradition, it began when 吉井甚之丞 (Buddhist name 浄観), a follower of Rennyo Shōnin, opened a nenbutsu practice hall in Noto Province and in Eishō 2 (1505) named it 鶴谷山 Zengyō-ji. In Heisei 18 the chief priest 吉井誠光, who inherited its mountain and temple names, opened a practice hall in Kawaguchi, and in Heisei 23 he built a main hall in Totsuka and moved there.
