Kami (Shinto deity)
Goryūjin (Tanashi Jinja)
五龍神(田無神社)
At Tanashi Jinja, the Golden, Blue, Red, White, and Black Dragons are enshrined as the Goryūjin (Five Dragon Kami), linked with the idea of the five phases. You can follow each one's name and figure, direction, and role in the faith.
The grouping and explanation of the five dragon deities here are based on the faith of Tanashi Jinja. They do not set a classification common to dragon deities throughout Japan.

Five colors and five directions
Tanashi Jinja explains that it enshrines Shinatsuhiko no Mikoto and Shinatobe no Mikoto, who are connected with wind, as the Golden Dragon of the main hall, and places blue, red, white, and black dragons in the four directions. The five phases is a traditional way of understanding the workings of nature through five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
