A journey through past, present and future

The guide of the Dewa Sanzan Japan Heritage Promotion Council describes the faith of making the round of the three mountains as a journey of rebirth relating to the present, past and future. Within it, Mount Yudono is linked with wishes for the future and for new life. There are differences between the historical teaching of the honjibutsu and the rites of the shrine today.
