History and things to know
According to the shrine's tradition, it originated when Hitone no Mikoto, who became the kuni no miyatsuko (governor) of Asaka in the reign of Emperor Seimu, enshrined Wakumusubi no Kami and Ame no Yutsuhiko no Mikoto on Mt. Akagi, and later Hitone no Mikoto himself was enshrined with them. In Tenna 3 the Hachiman and Inari shrines moved to Shimizudai, and in Meiji 5 the Kunitsuko shrine also moved here; the three shrines were brought together under the present name.
