History and things to know
According to temple tradition, it was built in the Kanbun era (1661–73) of the Edo period, and at that time it is said to have received as its principal image a statue of Amida Nyorai that had been kept at Mita Hachiman Jinja. In the Great Tokyo Air Raid the priests' quarters burned but the main hall survived, and in 2013 the main hall was rebuilt and a columbarium was newly built.
