History and things to know
According to temple tradition, it began in Genna 5 (1619) when Asano Nagaakira, first lord of the Hiroshima domain, granted temple lands and welcomed Nichion Shōnin of Kokuzen-ji to open it. Many of its halls were lost to fire and war; today the Inari hall enshrining Inari Daimyōjin remains, and the temple is known for the Tōka-san Grand Festival held every June.
