History and things to know
According to shrine tradition, the East Shrine, invited from Usa Hachimangū, and the West Shrine, invited from Tsurugaoka Hachimangū, were originally enshrined separately near the present Fukuyama Castle ruins. In Tenna 3 (1683) the domain lord Mizuno Katsutane built both shrines on 松廼尾山, and in Shōwa 44 their legal corporations were combined and it took its present name.
