History and things to know

According to the shrine's tradition, its forerunners were Suehiro Jinja, said to have been founded in the Keichō era, and Takenaga Inari Jinja, said to have been enshrined since old times on Takechiyo Hill. After both shrines burned in the war damage of Shōwa 20, they were moved to the present site, merged and renamed Jūban Inari Jinja, and the present shrine building was built in Heisei 9.
