History and things to know

According to the official history, Takahisa himself built the 徳宝殿 on Matsubarayama and founded Nanrin-ji, and this temple was later designated as Takahisa's family temple. In Meiji 2 Nanrin-ji was abolished and became a shrine, and after the burning of the shrine buildings in Meiji 9 and war damage in Shōwa 20, the shrine buildings were restored in Shōwa 52.
