History and things to know

According to the shrine's guide, it is said to have a history of about 600 years since its founding, and in Genroku 8 (1695), by order of Tokugawa Mitsukuni, it became the general guardian shrine of the three villages of Miyata, Sukegawa and Ōse. At the grand festival held every seven years, five sacred spears (kamihoko) brought from the inner shrine travel around the parish area, and the Hitachi Furyūmono is also presented.
