History and things to know

According to the official guide, the enshrined kami was long worshipped in a shrine inside a private residence, but because people wishing to worship never ceased, the present shrine building was built in Meiji 16 with the support of many people. Nearby are Kamanza-dōri, where kettle makers gathered, and Ryōgaemachi-dōri, where the gold mint (kinza) and silver mint (ginza) stood in the Edo period.
