History and things to know
According to the temple's tradition, it originated with Ganshō-ji, built in Nagashima around the Meiō era by Renjun, a son of Rennyo Shōnin. It moved to its present site in the Kiyosu-goshi relocation of Keichō 15 (1610) and became the Nagoya Gobō of Nishi Hongan-ji in Kyōhō 3 (1718). It lost its main hall and other buildings in the air raids of Shōwa 20, and the present main hall was completed in Shōwa 47.
