History and things to know
According to its history, it is said to be a Moto-Ise shrine founded by the imperial princess Toyosukiirihime no Mikoto in the reign of Emperor Sujin, and it is regarded as a shikinaisha. From the Azuchi-Momoyama period it was deeply revered by both the Ukita and the Ikeda lords, and the procession in which Ukita Hideie prayed for victory before going to war in Bunroku 1 has been handed down in its rites as a sacred ritual.
