History and things to know
According to the temple's official guide, it was founded in Genna 2 (1616), and the Naitō and Odagiri families are said to be its founding patrons. In Shōwa 2, taking the Great Kantō Earthquake as a lesson, a reinforced-concrete main hall was built; in the war damage of Shōwa 20 it lost its great roof, but the principal image and the death register are said to have survived without burning.
