History and things to know
According to temple tradition, Kuwayama Shigeharu, the first lord of Wakayama Castle, moved "三五寺," which originally stood in Wada village, to the present site and made it his family temple; because Shigeharu offered a coral rosary, it came to have its present name. The temple burned in the war damage of Shōwa 20, but the mountain gate survived.
